Product development, testing, and validation of full product launch including differential assemblies, gears, splined shafts, seals, bearings, components and housings.br 2. Full cycle product launch, from concept to start of production, utilizing engineering product development processes.br 3. Using fatigue analysis and Supersmith to determine safety factors for axle components and systems.br 4. Working with CAD softwares including NX, CATIA.br br Experience may be obtained currently.br br This is a key position with AAM, responsible in part for releasing axle and driveline systems and subsystems designs, including differential assemblies, gears, splined shafts, seals, bearings and housings, using NX and CATIA; calculating and establishing safety factors of axle components using FEA Test results Supersmith and comparing with requirement for various platforms; submitting designs for cost estimation for axle design including the complete Bill of Materials BOM; interfacing with Manufacturing, Cost Estimating, Purchasing and Sales to communicate design requirements to support overall cost and pricing development; coordinating engineering project team members from concept design through final system launch of each project. Timely completion of deliverables, within engineering project budget concept through launch; and work with Test Engineers, Analysis Team, and Component Engineers to create validation plans for systems, subsystems, and components. Because this is a key and critical position, requiring extensive knowledge of, as well as experience with, applicable concepts and quality issues, a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other engineering field, or equivalent foreign education, and 3 years experience working in the Automotive Driveline field, is required, as the position involves leading and maintaining DVPR and DFMEA for projects; coordinating and executing axle and component test plans with Customer; and complete GDT and StackUp analysis.
