REQUIREMENTS A Bachelors in Education, the target language of instruction Spanish, or a related field; B Hold a valid Utah State Teaching License issued by the Utah State Board of Education; and C Receive an advancedmid or higher language proficiency rating in the target language Spanish from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages ACTFL. Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training, and experience that a professional credential evaluator has determined to be equivalent to a bachelors degree in the required field of study from a U.S. university.br br Regarding the foreign language proficiency requirement H.13 and Other Requirement C under H.14, above, please note that this position must follow Utah State Board of Education USBE and Dual Language Immersion Fidelity Assurance Model requiring that the Elementary Dual Language Immersion Teacher Spanish deliver instruction in Spanish 100 of the time, no English is allowed to be spoken within this classroom or other instructional settings. This position requires the teacher to be able to communicate orally and in written word only in Spanish in a multitude of complex subject matters. Additionally, the teacher must facilitate demonstrated student learning of sociolinguistic competence, knowledge of how to use Spanish in various social contexts, discourse competence, coherent organization of ideas in Spanish, grammatical and linguistic competence, knowledge of Spanish grammar rules, and strategic competence, knowledge of how to use verbal and nonverbal Spanish communication strategies. The position requires the teachers use of Spanish competences effectively in various subject content areas including math, science, and social studies. It is imperative that the individual filling this position possesses the required high level of language proficiency in Spanish in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, otherwise the objectives of the USBE and the districts Dual Language Immersion Model could not be met.
