Requires a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or a related engineering field and 3 years of experience in the position offered or 3 years of experience performing quality or process engineering. Also requires 3 years of experience directing or participating in chronic problem solving projects for product warranty and customer complaints on water heater related home appliances; designing and conducting special experiments related to products failures to verify causes; participating in development of alternative solutions for improving production process metrics, including first pass yield and process productivity; coordinating implementations for process documentation, tools and training to the approved solution; determining the most efficient workstation layout, machines, tools and operations required to develop optimum line balance for sequential operations during new product introduction or process improvements; devising and developing the use of substitute equipment, tools and operations to overcome production schedule or technical problems; investigating new process technologies that can improve product quality or process performance metrics; determining adaptability of new process, tools or inspection method to facilities and product designs; working with the project engineering teams to validate feasibility and determine next steps for new process introductions and equipment selection, installation and implementation; and providing supervision for quality personnel. Requires 2 years of experience utilizing Quality Core tools. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
