This position requires a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a related field and 3 years related experience. Must also have 12 months of experience which may have been gained concurrently with each of the following 1 access, understand and judge chemical and biological literature critically to generate research hypothesis and to test hypothesis via designing synthetic targets; 2 review and interpret complex data to identify structureactivity relationship SAR assisted by utilizing visualization tools; 3 lead the design and execute the synthesis of novel chemical scaffolds via utilizing knowledge of existing synthetic transformations and developingoptimizing new chemical reactions; 4 propose derivatization strategy and execute chemical synthesis on bioactive compounds andor natural products scaffolds to access new chemical space, solve biological related challenges and access metabolites; and 5 utilizes the following toolstechnologies SciFinder, Reaxys; nuclear magnetic resonance 1H, 13C, 19F, 31P, and various 2D techniques, mass spectrometry, HPLC, GC; MOE, Gaussian. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Ph.D. program. This position requires less than 5 domestic and international travel.
