Specific Skills

The qualified candidate must have at least a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related life sciences field. The qualified candidate must be certified as a CPA or equivalent. The qualified candidate must have at least 10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, at least 5 years of which must have been for pharmaceutical industry companies. The qualified candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in all of the following; a overseeing the accuracy and operations of accounting departments, including oversight of the general accounting ledger, accounts payable, pay and stock plan administration functions; b examining budgets and preparing periodic reports to present to management; c preparing quarterly and annual financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements; d assessing corporate development practices, inclusive of accounting, FPA, business development, new product planning and investor relations; e developing and maintaining effective accounting processes and systems in order to reinforce internal controls; f examining and assessing a companys tax planning and compliance efforts; g preparing financial reports and presentations for senior management andor Board of Directors with regards to maintaining all technical and accounting policy needs of company; h assessing financial operations and providing expert financial insights and recommendations on best practices to management; i reviewing critical account reconciliations, including performing monthly and quarterly review of balance sheet accounts; j overseeing coordination of quarterly review and annual audits by auditors for the purpose of corporate filings; k working for one of the Big Four U.S. accounting firms Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, EY and, l indepth understanding of SEC regulations, reporting and disclosure requirements. All experience may be gained concurrently. Employer will accept candidates with any suitable combination of education and experience as described in H4 to H10, above.
