Position requires a J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. University and current valid law license in the state of NY, plus 8 years of experience in the job offered, or as Legal Counsel, Sr. Legal Counsel, Attorney, or similar position. In the alternative, will accept a foreign Doctor of Philosophy in Law equivalent degree and willingness to register as a Foreign InHouse Counsel in the state of NY, plus 8 years of experience in the job offered, or as Legal Counsel, Sr. Legal Counsel, Attorney, or similar position. Must have 4 years of experience working with each of the following working as inhouse legal counsel at an insurance or reinsurance company including working on corporate governance and crossborderinternational insurance MA transactions; interacting and communicating with senior executives; providing practical legal advice for colleagues and executives in the U.S. and overseas; working with Zurich Legacy Solutions and their legal and corporate structures; drafting and negotiating reinsurance agreements, commutation agreements and novation agreements; reviewing and analyzing bid offers to purchase insurance portfolios and project manage the legal workstream during a disposition transaction; applying the regulatory requirements with respect to annual and periodic insurance Regulatory filings; advising the investment team on allowable investments and ratios required by insurance regulation; structuring runoff transactions by use of new transfer legislation introduced in different States; and working with West Law. Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate time differences for interaction with international colleagues, mostly Europe but occasionally Asia Pacific and Middle East. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. and internationally. Option to work remotely is available. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education or experience. Please note that Mr. Dietschi was willing to register as a Foreign InHouse Counsel in the state of NY. His application with the Supreme Court of the State of New York to register as InHouse Counsel for Centre Group Holdings, pursuant to Part 522 of the Rules of the Court of Appeals has been already approved. Please note Mr. Dietschi qualifies based on the alternative requirements. Specifically, he has a foreign educational equivalent Doctor of Philosophy in Law degree and is registered as a foreign Inhouse Counsel in NY.
