The position requires a Masters degree, or higher, or foreign equivalent in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or closely related field. The position requires at least 1 year 12 months of experience as an informatics specialist, or closely related occupation; including at least 1 year 12 months of experience working with all of the following tools and technologies Sentieon, CLCQiagen, BWA, STAR, Samtools, Bedtools, Bedops, Picard, GATK, Illuminas TSO, Trimmomatic, FastQC, Hap.py, PyCharm, Matplotlib, Pandas, Numpy, UCSC Genome Browser and gnomeAD. The position requires at least 1 year 12 months of experience with all of the following a conducting research using bioinformatics theory and methods in areas such as, Genetics, Genomics, biology and medical informatics, biotechnology, computational biology, proteomics, Data science, computer science, b designing and developing algorithms, tools, methods, software and pipelines to process and analyze genomic or other biological big data using programming and several tools and technologies, c building and standardizing informatics infrastructure and solutions to facilitate test development, and troubleshooting and maintaining established methods and resources, d communicating and working with diagnostic laboratories to develop Bioinformatics solutions according to test requirements, and e creating documentation, Standard Operating Procedure for the developed informatics methods with required standards. All experience may be gained concurrently, before, during or after Masters program. Employer will accept candidates with any suitable combination of education and experience as described in H4 to H10, above.
