cont. from H.11 perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials, and other aspects of design arise from client, agency or public input; make corrections as indicated by Project Architect and Design Director to inprogress sets of design development and construction documents; evaluate general contractor bids and project budgets and coordinate construction budgets with clients and contractors; translate computer models into physical models using 3D printer and laser cut; conduct weekly site visits and progress meetings to observe construction progress and prepare field observation reports, final inspections, punch lists, and certificates of substantial completion; review and prepare certificates of substantial completion, occupancy, and final completion; organize, file and distribute documents utilizing Newforma software; conduct postoccupancy evaluation and review of clients use of space.br br Requires Bachelor of Architecture 5 year or foreign equivalent plus coursework, internships, or experience to include developing documents, schematic design through construction documents, including documenting architectural plans, elevations, and details; preparing sketches, working drawings, architectural detail specifications for concept design presentations and presentation packages using 2D3D CAD, building information modeling BIM software, and specialized design and drawing production tools and advanced modeling tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio MAX, SketchUp, VRay, PhotoShop, InDesign, Excel, Word and hand sketching to develop 2D3D models and model complex geometry forms and general building and interior models; using Revit to develop BIM process workflow for integrating multiple models together and resolving coordination conflicts with multiple architectural and consultants model; analyzing sketches, photographs, notes, and site survey of existing conditions other input material to determine best approaches for completion of drawings to solve technical issues of design in relation to site conditions, building structure, HVAC, electrical and plumbing system, fire protection and materials for intricate detailing; implementing space planning and programming and custom detailing; coordinating with and representing the firm to obtain approvals from clients and state and local agencies having jurisdiction over projects; participating in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors on a given project; translating clients functional and spatial requirements for structures into feasible design solutions; researching new materials, design methods, and construction practices that support energy conservation and sustainability for projects; assisting in the research, selection, consideration, and review of building materials, components and assemblies and develop aesthetically and technically appropriate construction details and specifications consistent with design and performance; providing ongoing development and support for all sustainable design platforms and working closely with design and delivery leadership to guide the transition from traditional sustainable design process and standalone environmental analysis practices into integrated design and analysis processes in collaborative work environments; preparing and incorporating weather data analysis to identify passive design potential based on the local climate and building use to minimize building energy needs and maximize the energy savings; settingup automated parametric optimization workflows using available and custom developed scripts to connect 3D modeling tools, building environmental analysis tools and evolutionary optimization algorithms to optimize the building shape andor building envelope and provide quick feedback on the performance to rest of the design team; cont. in K.9 Job 1
