Must have U.S. or foreign equivalent masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design Engineering plus 2 years of experience or a U.S. or foreign equivalent bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Design Engineering plus 5 years of experience. The required experience must be in high volume BIW design for an OEM or fullservice automotive supplier performing the following Catia V5 design experience including creating parametric surface, solid, drawings and release and data management experience in Team Center PLM environment; complete product development cycle from concept to launch in an OEM; prepare and review technical automotive structure design and vehicle layouts; perform materials selection including MS, HSS, UHSS, Aluminum alloys and TWB; handson experience in stamping simulation software including Auto form and Pam stamp; work with sheet metal processes, tools, body shop assembly sequencing, robotic and manual welding, structural adhesives, paint shop sealants and corrosion mitigation strategies; utilize relevant engineering tools including RCA, 8D analysis, PUGH matrix and DOE; utilize GDT and tolerance stack up analysis for BIW assemblies; create DFMEA, DVP and Homologation certification documentation for vehicle and sub system level certification pertaining to cabin design; utilize product development processes of leading automotive OEMs and global vehicle regulatorysafety standards including Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards FMVSS, Indian Automotive Industry Standards AIS, ECE NCAP.
