Sailthru, Inc. Sailthru develops internet application software solutions for retail and media companies. The Engineering Manager position is not an entrylevel position but an integral part of maintaining and growing our operations. To supervise a Software Development team of Software Engineers to develop Lifecycle Optimizer features, she must skilled inwith Batch Application Development; Scalable Microservices Development; REST APIs; Performance Visualizations; Postgres Databases; and SOA Principles. She must be skilled inwith Scalable Microservices Development to manage critical incidents and oversee rapid resolution for Lifecycle Optimizer; own responsibility for Key Performance Indicators for uptime and incident resolution; and improve the companys software development and deployment infrastructure, tools, and systems, including ensuring documentation of all aspects of development and deployment, for more efficient software development for all systems. She must be skilled inwith REST APIs to lead a Software Development team driving the technology powering Lifecycle Optimizer and participate in the companys engineering leadership team and help shape company policy, best practices, and set precedents for a 50 member engineering organization. She must be skilled inwith Performance Visualizations to collaborate with other Lead Engineers and Managers to optimize engineering processes to become more efficient and pursue and share information and welcome information exchange across development teams to ensure that developers stay informed of new technologies. She must be skilled inwith Postgres Databases to establish, implement, monitor and oversee the efficiency of Application and Systems Monitoring solutions and telemetryrealtime data; select appropriate technologies and implement systems to scale Lifecycle Optimizer to handle up to 30,000 requests per second; and collaborate with other engineering teams to build and manage world class marketing technology. She must also be skilled inwith SOA Principles to analyze clients needs and partner with the product management team to build and evolve the Lifecycle Optimizer features, drive decisionmaking, gain buyin, and lead implementation for new features andor upgrades to clients systems; contribute significantly to the development of code in Java and PHP and other languages as needed; and ensure functionality of Lifecycle Optimizer through continuous maintenance and testing. Without a theoretical background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related, gained through the completion of at least a Bachelors degree, the applicant would not have the requisite foundation required of this position. This knowledge must be combined with a minimum of 60 months of experience in an occupation related to Software Development to demonstrate that she has the necessary handson, realworld experience and knowledge of industry practices and use of operating systems, tools, and protocols. Each required skill is directly related to the duties to be performed. The applications, skills, and technologies used to perform the job are extremely complex and integral to the wellbeing of Sailthru. Therefore, we have determined that the job duties and minimum requirement of a Bachelors degree and 60 months of experience bear a reasonable relationship to the occupation in the context of our business, and are essential to perform the job in a reasonable manner.
