Position requires a Masters Degree in Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages, English, Education, or a related field, and 9 months of experience teaching English to speakers of other languages in a classroom setting. Experience must include a minimum of 6 months of experience with preparing lesson materials and implementing curricula for English and ESL courses for grades 610; 6 months of experience with grading tests and homework assignments for English Language Learners as part of English and ESL courses; 6 months of experience with providing extra academic assistance to students with special needs in a classroom setting; and 6 months of experience coordinating and conducting NYSESLAT and NYSITELL testing for English Language Learners. Position requires New York State English To Speakers Of Other Languages teaching certification and successful completion of the Child Abuse Identification and School Violence Intervention And Prevention workshops. English and Spanish fluency required. Must be able to demonstrate experience in instructional planning, instructional delivery, classroom management, and classroom culture. Must successfully complete a technical interview including presentation of a sample lesson plan.
