Academic program must have included one course inwith each of the following areas 1 Air Pollution Control, including estimation of emission rates, air pollution regulations, PEMS Portable Emission Measurement Systems to study real time onroad vehicular emissions, application of air quality sensors to study human exposure to pollutants in transportation microenvironments, and air quality emission models; 2 Environmental Exposure Assessment, including the study of human health risk assessment, estimation of pollutant exposure doses based on personal activity, pollutant transformation and degradation processes; 3 Physical Principles of Environmental Science or Physical Principles in Environmental Engineering, including fate and transport of pollutants, fluid mechanics, particle transformation and interactions and design of reaction chambers; 4 Solid Waste Management, including application of lifecycle analysis to waste management systems, management of greenhouses gases, waste to energy transformation, waste treatment by composting, anaerobic digestion and combustion, leaching techniques and transport of chemicals in soils and groundwater; 5 Environmental Bioprocess Technology, including application of microbiology to improve air and water quality, kinetics and stoichiometry of biological reactions, energy and resource recovery using biological processes, aerobic and anaerobic reactions and design of reaction chambers; and 6 Chemical Principles of Environmental Science or Chemical Principles of Environmental Engineering, including application of inorganic and organic environmental chemistry to improve air and water quality, fate and transport of chemicals, water quality modeling using US EPA United States Environmental Protection Agency QUAL2K. Skills may be evidenced by academic letters of reference or other testimonials, if requested.
