Specific Skills

Must have a Masters degree in Biostatistics, Public Administration, Statistics, Epidemiology or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or a related position. Must have one year of experience with all of the following 1. interpreting technical medical data in the fields of regional anesthesia, acute pain, chronic pain, orthopedics and cytokine biology and generating recommendations to support clinical and translational research efforts in a biomedical or clinical setting; 2. working with multiple medical investigators on at least 10 studies at a time; 3. designing statistical studies; building statistical models; devising randomization schedules for trials; and performing statistical analysis, including survival, longitudinal, and categorical data analysis to support randomized controlled studies, prospective cohort studies, and retrospective chart reviews of patient medical records; 4. writing methods and data analysis plans for IRB applications, manuscripts, abstracts and grant applications; 5. serving as the statistical consult on Data Safety Monitoring Boards; 6. supporting FDAregulated clinical trials; 7. performing statistical analyses and modeling using multiple programming languages such as R, SAS or STATA; and 8. building and improving Macros for efficient data processing and presentation and providing bestpractice guidance for efficient data management for departmental research needs.
