Specific Skills

Minimum six 6 years of experience in avionics installation, troubleshooting and support of Part 23, Part 25 or Part 27 airframes for both domestic and international aircrafts to include quot;Flight line operations and base maintenance for business aviation quot;Flight line operations for commercial aviation quot;Troubleshooting integrated avionic systems quot;Airframe and engine electrical systems integrated to avionics systems quot;Project management of aircraft updates and new avionics systems quot;247 AOG support Minimum four 4 years of experience providing field service avionics product support for an aviation Original Equipment Manufacturer OEM in an Aircraft Maintenance Facility andor an Aircraft Manufacturing environment.br br H.12 Normal Job Requirements Cont. from H.11 Some avionics technicians, like this Regional OEM Support Manager role, install and troubleshoot avionics equipment on fixed wing aircraft or helicopters. The technicians are responsible to see that everything works properly and none of it interferes with other electronic devices on board. Those that troubleshoot systems, as in this role, are avionics technicians with years of experience and a tremendous depth of knowledge and are often referred to as system troubleshooters. These technicians, also referred to as Field Service Engineers, know how the full airframe systems parts interact and sometimes counteract one another. This means that the Regional OEM Support Manager must understand how Garmins products interact with the rest of the aircraft system. Line avionic technicians rely on them for accurate diagnosis of difficult problems. Our Regional OEM Support Manager is clearly not an entry level line avionic technician role. As explained above, this person provides onsite representation and technical support of Garmin Avionics systems and installations. This role diagnoses and resolves troubleshoots advanced or complex aircraft OEM product questions or issues on 250 installed products. This role is the person on whom the OEM line avionic technicians rely for accurate diagnosis, coaching, and technical support. He needs to have tremendous depth of knowledge of Part 23, Part 25 and Part 27 airframes including those noted above. This person is the onsite expert working independently. This role needs to understand how the full Garmin system works together. For example, the complexities of how to connect Garmin Autoland to the other systems of the plane with which it communicates including the fuselage, the landing gear, and the steering mechanism. A line technician with only up to two years of experience has no where near the indepth knowledge to troubleshoot this system. Also note that this role does not support a oneplane fix, it is not a line technician rushing out to the tarmac to replace a black box. The systems that this role is working within are at the manufacturing level on an entire fleet of aircrafts. This role is located at the OEM manufacturing facility location as Garmin#x19;s avionic technician expert. The OEM company expects that this person will have many years of experience above the majority of their own technicians and indepth knowledge of aircrafts. This person is expected to provide complex and advanced technical support and train the OEMs personnel in the installation and operation of Garmin Avionics equipment which is being installed into the OEMs crafts at the production stage. Six years of experience in avionics installation and troubleshooting is the minimum years of experience for a field service engineertechnician that we would feel comfortable sending to an OEM facility to represent Garmin and we know our competitors feel this is a normal requirement as well.
