Must have 2 years of experience in database administration or software development positions performing the following development or production support of applications; performing problem tracking, diagnosis and rootcause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for highly complex issues; identifying, applying, and implementing best practices to solve complex problems; providing direction and mentoring less experienced teammates; utilizing DB2 utilities and tools in both single and multipartitioned environment; utilizing exp. w IBM Pure Data System for Operational Analytics PDOA, ISAS 7700, SQL, DB2 10.110.5, AIX and Netbackup; utilizing DB2 workload management, Range and hash partitioned tables, DB2 High Performance Unloader, and Optim Performance Manager; performing database installations and upgrades, applying fixpacks and special builds across multiple versions of the database; performing database design creation and maintenance using various database utilities and tools; performing database backups to third party devices such as NetBackup; working on restores, redirected restores, and rolling forward recovery of transaction logs from the available backups in order to make the databases available; setting up federated environment across the databases; involvement in performance tuning activities at the database level such as memory tuning, DB and DB CFG tuning and at SQL level, such as recommending indexes; working on various database objects, including procedures, functions, tables, views and aliases; setting up ODBC connections to the database; and granting and revoking the required privileges and authorities using roles and groups.
