Specific Skills

Qualified applicants must have a PhD degree or foreign equivalent in the field of Human Auditory Neuroscience, Psychology with a specialization in Neuroelectrophysiology or a related field, and 6 months of experience working in a hearing science laboratory. Full term of experience must include a working knowledge of all neuroelectrophysiological recordinganalysis methods availableapplied to the study of human hearing, including auditoryevoked potentials, oscillatory activities, cortical entrainment, and HRV; academic literature pertaining to the human auditory system, including its development, neuroanatomy, and neural circuitry, as well as the causes, consequences, and treatments of auditory disorders, especially hearingimpairment; computer hardware, including computer assembly and audioinput device interfacing; audio hardware, including amplifiers, mixers, speakerstransducers, digitaltoanalog converters, sound capture devices, microphones, interconnectscable standards; softwareprogramming skills, including Office, R, MATLAB, and Python; Demonstrated ability to independently design neuroelectrophysiological and psychophysical experiments and to program software for running such experiments; applied knowledge of descriptive and inferential both Frequentist and Bayesian statistics; data visualization skills with strong knowledge of graphic design principles for producing publicationready graphics; written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by peerreviewed articles published in relevant neuroscience andor hearing science academic journals and refereed presentations at relevant academic conferences; demonstrated ability to work with human participants and to engage in compassionate and personable interactions with vulnerable populations. Up to 10 international and domestic travel required.
